Chinese Farmer Builds Psycho-Copter From Scratch

Sep 26, 2009 04:30 PM

There's been a lot of craziness from the far East lately on WonderHowTo...

A Chinese farmer builds an army of robots, a Thai baker makes horror movie-esque bodies out of bread, a Chinese James Bond enthusiast hacks together his own submarine, and don't forget the Japanese cooking show narrated by a poodle named Francis...

Presenting Wu Zhongyuan, a resourceful inventor who easily joins the ranks of his creative Eastern counterparts. Zhongyuan has crafted a helicopter out of an old jungle gym, a motorcycle engine, and wooden rotors cut from an elm tree. The helicopter cost him roughly $1600 to make, and supposedly elevated him 2600 feet above ground before the authorities ordered him down.

According to Gizmodo,

"Zhongyuan has no formal aviation training, but still managed to assemble the rickety beast using a recollection of middle school physics courses and "relevant knowledge found while surfing the Internet via his mobile phone."

Would love to see a video.
